[ History ] :
There once was a peaceful place where the gods lived. Devaloka, it was called, had other gods who wished to disrupt that order. Due to this, Naraka was created. With their powers gone, they were called humans. Those who wished for the two worlds to be together were called The Sensus. They were lead by a general called Asura. Those who wished the world to be separated were called The Ratio. There was war and Sakuya was the second in command to Asura. She loved Asura deeply but she knew that she should keep her feeling for him buried. She knew that he was in love with Inanna and that there was nothing she could do. At first, she did not hate her but she did view her as being annoying. Sakuya even thought about killing her but thought against it. When The Sensus gained victory over The Ratio, Inanna stabbed Asura with his own sword, Durandal. Shortly after snapping the blade and killing her, The Manifest activated. The Manifest has the power to grant any wish. This event would be known as The Fall. As a result of this, the two worlds were still separated....or so they think.

In present day, there are beings known as Avatars. Avatars are human but they are the reincarnation of the gods. Since there are those who feel uneasy toward them, the Compulsory Avatar Rehabilitation Program was created to capture them and use them as soldiers for the war between Regum and Tenos. Chitose is the reincarnation of Sakuya and she works for Mathias, the leader of an organization called Arca. Arca are against the rehabilitation programs and makes sure that these avatars are free from the discrimination in society. Mathias seeks to find The Manifest and create a new world for them.

Chitose first appeared when Ruca, the reincarnation of Asura, and Iria, the reincarnation of Inanna, were kidnapped by the Grigori. When Ruca and Chitose first meet, she asked for his name and if he was an avatar too. She told him that she joined Arca because she wanted to find someone. When she said that she would not like Iria, she brushed it off and said it was none of her business. During their trip across the battle of the Garam opposition, Chitose appeared and asked if Ruca was feeling well. When Iria asked why she was on the battlefield, she brushed it off. She told them that she did join Arca as volunteer work. She gave Ruca a warning before they left. Asura was a powerful god, there are those who are reincarnated who will seek vengeance. After Ruca mentioned how powerful he feels, Chitose said that he was wonderful. He was strong and was drawn to him.

From there, there was a flashback to her former life as Sakuya. She said to herself that she should keep her feelings for him a secret since she is just a subordinate. However, now that she was reincarnated, things would be different. Before leaving the battlefield, Chitose gave Ruca a farewell kiss on the cheek.

She does not show up again until the heroes go to Ashihara. There was a memory circle there so they can see a glimpse of their past lives. Since they were not sure where it was, they decided to split into groups. After Ruca was alone and went to the inn, Chitose appeared to greet him. She said that Ashihara was where she was born and decided to talk to him alone. She was happy that this was the first time in a long while where they had been alone. It was then that Ruca recognized that Chitose was the reincarnation of Sakuya. She tried to get him to join Arca once more since she does not want him to be in the rehabilitation program. However, she failed. After warning Ruca not to trust Iria, Chitose briefly mumbled to herself if he had forgotten.

When the heroes were leaving maze hell the Ashihara tombs, Chitose asked Ruca to join Arca again and leave behind his friends. She told them about Inanna's betrayal and said that it was her fault for causing The Fall. She was the reason why the world was still suffering. However, Ruca continued to protect Iria and said that he wanted to stay with his friends. After a boss fight, Chitose started laughing and said that she will never forgive Iria for what she did. Then, she disappeared.

The next time we see her was when the heroes were at the end of the sky castle. They found the corpses of Asura and Inanna. Chitose told Ruca that she tried to warned him but he did not listen. After some discussion, they found out who Mathias was. Mathias was the reincarnation of all the hate and betrayal Asura felt from the betrayal. She looked like Inanna as well. She said that one way to use The Manifest is kill the one you love. Chitose said that she would gladly give up her life and asked if Mathias had any love for her based on their previous life. Mathias did not response back and said that Ruca needed to kill Iria. However, before anything else could be done, the sky castle was collapsing. Both Mathias and Chitose escaped shortly before the heroes. Afterwards, Hermena, one hero, mentioned how Asura wanted to the worlds to stay together and Inanna wanted them to be separated. Since they killed one another, it would mean that both worlds were connected but at the same time, they were not.

Shortly before they arrived, Mathias told Chitose to kill her to active The Manifest and destroy the world. However, she could not because of her love for Asura. After some arguments, Ruca and the others decided to fight Mathias. It was there that Chitose started to feel faint and arrived here.

[ Personality ] :
Chitose was a girl who had an unfortunate past and an unfortunate outcome. There were many layers to Chitose, one of which was her extreme loyality and dedication. It was unclear how long she had been with Mathias but she had been with her long enough to stay by her side despite how badly she treated her. Even with the obvious flaws, the girl was still willing to stay by her to the very end. In a sense, she was a strong person for being able to see the good in her. It could be argued that Chitose could have been manipulated by her into believing that the world was better off destroyed than to try to have two worlds merge together. After all, her city of Ashihara is nearly wiped out because of The Fall. Since Chitose had been in a rather abusive relationship, she might have a case of Stockholm Syndrome for Mathias.

Since Chitose was raised in Ashihara, she was raised on their culture and ideals. Since her culture was dying, she would have learned every aspects of their society and pass it on. Due to this, the girl was a bit of a Yamato Nadeshiko. She talked with a soft voice, dressed very femininely, and usually spoke in a polite manner. She was a well mannered and well behaved girl when people first saw her. Appearances were very important to her and usually tried to make a good impression on people. Even when she was angry, she rarely made vulgar comments and tried to stay calm. At most, she would simply respond to Iria as “that women”. As someone from Ashihara, she wanted to see her country safe. As a result, she felt like she a huge responsibility to herself on saving her country. She does not care what the means are as long as her country was safe from destruction. However, Mathias has probably manipulated her into thinking this since she was planning on destroying the world to create a new one.

Since her country was slowly sinking, Chitose did not have a happy childhood. As she was growing up, trying to find a way to safe Ashihara was engrained into her mind. While most of the people of Ashihara were friendly people, it was very likely that those she got close to were going to die or move. What was the point in forming close relationships when they were going to leave? Since her country was dying and how she was willing to do anything for Mathias (such as killing herself), it was likely that she had no living relatives or any close attachments to anyone else. She was extremely lonely and simply wanted someone to love her back. When she started having dreams about Sayuka, she thought that after Inanna's betrayal, it would mean that Chitose finally had someone who would love her and perhaps love her back. She was desperate to have someone who would help her escape the situation she was in and that's when Mathias showed up. Chien mentioned how kind Mathias was and Chitose looked up to her. She was very aware that she was treating her badly given the verbal abuse at the end of the game. However, as long as it was Asura, everything was okay.

Chitose viewed her past self as tragic and because of this, she wanted to make sure that it does not happen again and why she was so motivated to protect Ruca. Since Sayuka's love for Asura was so intense, Chitose felt the same way to both Ruca and Mathias. She loves both sides to Asura. Chitose did question if her love for both of them was shallow. However, she was stubborn. She did believe that the both of them would eventually love her no matter what.

As a ninja, Chitose was very observant towards people and it could be implied that she was probably stalking the heroes's every move to get more information to Mathias. Due to this, Chitose was slightly manipulative herself. She tried to make subtle suggestions and behaviors towards Ruca to see if there might be any chances of him having any feelings towards her. She constantly tried to flirt with him and in return, it could have worked as Ruca had a slight infatuation towards her for a short period of time.

While it has yet to happen, the matter of her death should still count as part of her personality. Chitose killed herself shortly after Mathias died because Chitose had nothing else to live for. Since Mathias hates Inanna/Iria as much as Chitose does due to the betrayal, she believed that Mathias was the 'real' Asura. No matter how hard Chitose tried, she could not get Ruca to leave Iria and still could not understand why. It was mentioned that Mathias used her kindness to manipulate people and that was what happened. Chitose was willing to sacrifice anything because she wanted was to stay by her side.

However, if she were in a situtation were Mathias died and she lived, she would gladly commit seppeku for whatever dignity has left. Since Mathias was the person who she devoated her life to was gone and Ruca loves Iria, there was no meaning for her anymore. She would rather kill herself than to waste away whatever life she has left.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Strengths
As a fighter, she is quick. Her battle formula is to hit an enemy, disappear before they could hit back, reappear, and repeat. She jumps fairly high, runs quickly, and her physical defense is high. According to her stats, she has extremely high luck. It means that she can be lucky and manage to get an opening or two that could severely damage her enemies. She is strong against wind and dark spells. In short, she is a hard boss to fight.

Weaknesses
She is not hit hard and relies on combos to win her fights. If someone were to attack in the middle of her combos, it would leave her open. While her physical defense is high, magical spells are different. She has trouble with them. In addition, she is weak against ground and light attacks.
